Love it

I love Christmas. I love the traditions, the cooking, the kids being home, the family get togethers, the magic of it all. People are just a little kinder and a little nicer this time of year. I love teaching my kids the importance of the season and taking them to buy "little" gifts for other kids and watching their faces when they are able to deliver those gifts.

Most of all, I love the memories. I remember the family coming to watch the Christmas play, it was the only time my dad would come to church. I also remember the family get togethers. As a kid, those were the best. Looking back it was great just sitting there listening, just taking it all in. I am so excited that this time of year is so full of memories for everyone and that I get to help my kids make those memories. I wonder what they would write in 30 years about Christmas.

As an adult, I really try to remember the miracle of the birth of Jesus and try to look at Christmas through the eyes of my kids. I don't get stressed out over what to buy for who. Who cares if they don't like what they got? That's not what Christmas is about. Christmas is and always will be about a baby in a manger.
